CCFC Matchday Posters

project overview

Collaborating with Coventry City Football Club through a Coventry University live project, I designed a series of matchday posters for the club's digital platforms. The goal was to elevate conventional sports graphics by incorporating handcrafted printmaking techniques to bring authenticity, texture, and individuality to their matchday media.

Matchday Posters & Social Media

Modern sports graphics are hyper-polished, but they can easily blend together. The challenge here was to see if traditional printmaking could break that mold and create a stand-out identity for digital media. The Challenge: Finding out how handcrafted, tactile processes can drive deeper engagement with today's digital football fans.

While modern sports media relies on polished digital graphics, this project explores how traditional printmaking can build a more distinctive visual identity for contemporary social audiences. To answer how handcrafted processes can impact modern football fans, I experimented with lithography, block printing, monoprinting and mixed media. These analogue methods introduced texture, depth, and an element of unpredictability that standard digital graphics lack. Every design began as a physical asset, iteratively refined before being translated into its final digital application.
